This and That

I've been reading Richard Rohr.s book Falling Upwards. Been at it for some time now. Not a hard read, but certainly thought provoking. The basic premise is we live life in two halves. During the first half we are in a learning mode. In the second half;

                                        we do not have strong and final opinions about everything,
                                        every event, or  most people as much as we allow things
                                        and, people to delight us, sadden us and truly influence us.
                                        We no  longer need to change or adjust other people to be
                                        happy ourselves. Ironically, we are more than ever before
                                        in a position to change people--but we do not need to --
                                        and that makes all the difference.   RR.

Can you relate to, or even understand this statement? Please do think about this as I will come back to it with further information in a separate post.
